Hi both and welcome to the site. Feel free to look around and join in. There's lots more info available to card holders. It's only £8 a year
Hows Retford these days? I haven't been there this year. There's a pub that used to do pretty good meals there. I think its called The Elms? A couple of my workmates have the miss fortune(!) to live in Retford.

Yup, West Burton, Cottam and all other power stations throughout the UK. Looking at the shift rota this week there should be 8 working at Cottam and 3 at West Burton. Keep an eye open for any vans with 'Powermann' splatterd over the sides.

So you'll be dropping the Bedford engine and gearbox into the S type then?

What are you doing at West Burton? Should be plenty of work up your way with W.B and Cottam on your doorstep plus Castle GreySkull (Drax), Eggborough and Ferrybridge just up the road. I personaly Hate Drax. Come to think of it I'm not keen on any coal fired station. Gas and Nukes are the nicest.

Have you ever worked at a coal fired site? You spend the first few days tunneling through the pulverised coal dust

I assume you are after clearance to work at the BE sites? I got my clearance arranged through the firm I work for. I know it involved a lot of forms and an online questionaire at http://www.disclosurescotland.co.uk/ (probably because the 1st Nuke I was working at was Hunterston in Scotland) but I can't remember exactly what. It was a few years ago. Most of the Nukes I've worked at are nice sites. Nice and clean but it is a bit weird seeing men walking around carrying guns
