Happy new year diff help wanted

Happy new year all
Can anyone help me ?
I have now swapped my rear axle for a tranny rear axle as after engine transplant to tranny engine top speed was 50 mph and sooooo noisy.
Anyway my buddy has a lovely cf camper I brought if the for sale pages on his behalf from a gent in Blackpool .
He was thinking of swapping the diff out for a different ratio
Does anyone know of a better ratio that could as they say slip in and out
If not would a tranny diff be anygood as he puts in first for about a second then has to change up?
Any advice gratefully recieved
Happy new year all
Marc

I have a CF 350 coach built and mine is the same, and is so for a reason, I must admit I hardly use 1st gear but there have been times when towing the classic caravan that I would have been stuck without it.
