well that was a eventful weekend got the van all packed & off we went to Loch Lomond, got as far as Doune when I had my first inkling of what was to come. at 300 am just coming off the A9 slip road on to the A820 I lost power then it came back for a few hundred yard before cutting out all together had a quick look see baring in mind I was wearing a white shirt & only a basic tool kit(I know I know I should have known better) it was time to call the RAC after a hour & a few cups of coffee later, they turned up chap thought it was the timing belt, so out came the grommet on the cover nope not that pulley was turning ok the the penny dropped air in the fuel sure enough he opened a injector & turned over the engine & sure enough out came the air, re fixed everything & sent us on our way, all was well all day saturday made the party & a great night was had by all. On Sunday we headed home got on to the M8 only got as far as Cumbernauld on the M90 when she cut out again no probs says I off with the engine cover open a injector & the bleeder on the fuel filter out came the air, all was well for a mile when it happened again on the hard shoulder once more coast to a stop next to a SOS phone, another hour wait for the RAC meanwhile a traffic support vehicle pulled up to see what the problem was, he told us he woud sit behind us so we could sit in van while waiting for RAC, who dully turned up bled the air out of the fuel system, & off we went once more he followed us to the Stirling Services where I filled up the tank (i did have half a tank) as he thought it might be the fuel pick up pipe in the tank, that was the prob, so of we went once more he followed me for another 5 miles then we pulled over to check for leaks couldn't see any so filled in all the paper work & off I went on my own all was well for 2 miles the you guessed it cut out again, so bled the system again (white shirt was getting a bit grubby by now) & got her going once more, . that is until I got to Dundee & I went to stop pressed the brakes to find them very hard, got the van stopped got out to check this latest prob to find the vac pump had said enough is enough,:( so I carefully drove home to Aberdeen without servo assisted brakes finally made it home at midnight after a 9 hour drive, normally its a 3 to 4 hour drive , & just to put a tin hat on things the rear axle has started to complain again I now have sideways & up & down movement on the prop shaft flange where the prop bolts on to
