engine problems okay first off... engine has had all new gaskets, I have oil in the water and water in the oil but this is the least of my worries as its most likely the head gasket isn't torqued down properly. but I ran it yesterday for 2-3 min and could hear a kinda shhhhh noise,at first I thought water pump but that has no play in it so I slid under and it sounds more like it coming from the sump area so what do you guys think it could be??thanks again Paul | Tue 20 May 2014 @ 11:23 |

You say the engine has had new gaskets all through but the head is not torqued, this could be where the hissing is from.Did you have the head machend flat? With you starting the engine in this state you may be doing it harm.Check the head and torque it down as should be,then lisen for hissing.Cheers+Beers,Jim. ---------------------- | Tue 20 May 2014 @ 19:33 |

oil in water and water in oil is a bad thing you need to flush both out and find out where the fault lies. the sound could be the oil pump grinding as its contaminated with water. another place to check is the inlet manifold, this can cause weird noises if not fitted properly | Wed 21 May 2014 @ 19:21 |
