Music

Let me start by saying I'm a big fan of Pink Floyd. I have been since I was in my teens and first saw them when I was 19. While doing my commute to work today (4 1/2 hours each way!) I listened to a bit of PlanetRock on the radio. I've never been a lover of cover versions of Floyd, in fact I seriously think Susan Boyle should be hung for what she did to 'Wish you were here' but I heard this and actually prefer it to the original. Then again I never was a big fan of this track (actually 3 tracks, part 1, 2 & 3). It was too commercial. Anyway, have a listen and see what you think. The video is from the Pink Floyd film, The Wall but the music isn't

Strange, I just had a very similar message on a different forum. I've never understood tribute bands. It's a bit like having sex with your own sister. It looks the same, it feels the same but you know theres something not quite right about it

Don`t know about such things Colin. I had four sisters and they all went back unopened!!! It was the war you know. I can`t blame that on Maggie.

I like Korn.
Good cover and on the same with the original for me. Probably cause these guys respect Pink Floyd for the greatness they were.
Lets face it, most covers of rock music are just killed by pop artists who want to make a quick pound.
I hated that cover by the Pop Idol idiot Mat Cardle who ruined Biffy Clyro's Many of horrors. Or do you remember the original "Valerie" ruined by smackhead Amy Winehouse. It was by the Zutons.

I like tribute bands only if they stick to the original and it's a proper tribute. Seen Dirty DC and UK Guns & Roses a few times and finally have tickets to see the real AC/DC in June this year. Happy days.

Guy, Do you ever go to Mr Kypss or The Thomas Tripp?
