Usage.

Hi bluebedouin,

My van is off the road through the winter, so from the end of September until the first of April it is not taxed and parked up.
But the rally mileage through the summer months is about 850 miles plus the non rally jollies normally takes the six months mileage up to around 1400 miles in all.

Mine is normally insured 12 months and taxed every 6 months but I've now taxed it 12 months using the new monthly direct debit option which, in my opinion they should have done years ago.

Since we only bought our Advantura before Christmas, I finished all work to get it ready for a new lease of life again and have insured and taxed it from beginning of April on.
Our insurance is with Adrian Flux, as they also insure my works van and have done my 67 Beetle.
We pay £317 fully comp, aggreed value, including European breakdown recovery and getting it back to the UK as we do a lot of travelling in France, Germany and have plans for Scandinavia too.
There aren't many companies which do the European breakdown for motorhomes over 30 years old. Not even the Caravan Club were doing it and all separately would have worked out more.

Cheers Frank
