The hidden water leak.

Hi to all,

I have been losing a small amount of water lately and today I found from where the top rear corner of the inlet manifold, on more than a drip as the engine cooled down but on a long run it would expand and stop.
So that made it a bit harder to find unless like today it had been running up to temp and the engine cover was still off as it cooled, and a bead of water turned into drip.
All new gaskets in the spring because the head was off to check and reseat the valves so a good re-torque around the manifold studs seems to have cured the problem, it will be rechecked tomorrow morning just to make sure.
There is always something with these old motors just lurking and ready to give you your next road side panic.
On the return journey from Moffat bumping my way down towards a roundabout the engine cut out, managed to get it restarted and off the roundabout to find that the wire feeding the fuel cut-off to the carb had came off.
