E=10 Fuel.

Hi to all,

My first encounter with E=10 petrol, and not a good one because fuel station had not mark which pumps had it, when asked why they said E=10 is in all of our tanks we now have no E=5 at all.
Would have been nice to have known that before filling up, but I have now went from on starting at all to starting and running all be it in a lumpy fashion.
I found this fuel caused an advanced detonation, and by retarding the ign. timing very slightly I did get the engine to start and run but as if there was water in the fuel so still a work in progress!

Half a gallon of E=10.

Hi to all,

Slowly getting back running in a drivable way, just as well it was just a half gallon and not a full tank.
But with no markings on the pumps I think a lot of older vehicles will end up stuck her forecourt.
Managed to get the Bedford to run by back off the Ign. timing by about three degrees then once up to engine temp. it would run and so burn off the E=10 fuel.
