Let me introduce myself

and that's all I remember of the lyrics :)

I bought my Bedford camper in 2003 and have had great fun with it since. Not used as much as I would like, but I have a collection of old cars that all need work. Not to mention the normal business of holding down a job and keeping house & home together.

In 2004 I found a VX490 engine which I rebuilt and have fitted in place of the tired Bedford unit. I have not modified the van to take the twin carb set-up but the current Bedford carb gives more than enough torque to pull van and trailer with Hillman Imp up the hill at Dover without issues.

I'm currently working on the engine again as I think I did not time the crank & cam shafts correctly, and need to cure a small but persistant oil leak.

In September I will be heading for Newcastle from Ijmuiden and from there to the North of Scotland and down to the south of England for the Beaulieu Autojumble on Sep 9.

thanks for reading
Murray

Welcome Murray.
A few days earlier and you could have got in to Bedford Gathering as well, and met some of the wonderful people from this site. Happy travels nevertheless.

all the best with your trip one day we will go over the water with
our bedford but at the moment it is getting the time and the nerve
