First weekend away!

;D
Still grinning!

Just got back from our first time out in our CF250. Went to Aldeburgh, Suffolk and stayed on the sea wall Friday night, moved onto a small site near Shingle Street for Saturday. (Wanted to get a feel for both). We loved it - including the dog.
Waking up in the overcab bunk, looking out of the side window to see the sun coming up over the sea.

Walk the dog on the beach before breakfast. Doesn't get much better than that.

Very successful weekend - seemed to do quite well for fuel. Only minor hitches were:

Stopped for dog toilet break on the way down, ready to set off again and van wouldn't start. Plenty of juice in the battery - turned out to be a wire jumped (??) off its terminal on the starter motor. Fairly simple fix, except that the engine was still hot and the gap I had to reach through was 2mm wider than my arm. Still, a nice feeling to have what seemed to be a serious problem and then fix it.

Then there was leaving the petrol cap behind at the petrol station. Still can't work out how I did that. Managed to get a temporary one, but will need to replace it with a lockable one soon.

Finally there was the shoeful of petrol I got when filling up for the return journey - how does that happen?

All minor in comparison with the brilliant time we had AND the weather wasn't awful like the forecast said it was going to be.

Anyway we are now officially hooked.

"Where shall we go next?"

lucky so and so

loved the pic of you sat at the wheel but I think you need a shave....;)

croeso to the bedheads and the joys of wilding it. now you need to apply for your member card so you can access the wildcamp spots and enjoy more of the same and add your spot to it. looks good..

and blackpool is coming

then it's easter [4th annual bedhead meet up] next year and we still don't have a meet arranged for then.

andy [Kent] has offered one in May but can't do easter.

any volunteers to arrange one for easter ???

I think Blackpool's a bit of a trek for a weekend - not so bad if it was a bank holiday but I wouldn't be able to get off work early this Friday and have to be in on the Monday so a lot of driving and very little resting (which is sort of the point).

Kent sounds good though.

Yep, done both.

"lucky so and so"

Yes. Oh I forgot to show you this - Friday night, eating excellent fish and chips watching the sun go down (yes on this spot you get to see sunrise over the sea and sunset over the river and marshes).
