Hello !
Just got myself a 1979 CF on Ebay - awaiting the horrors that lie within ! I've bought it for my father's retirement present, giving me around 6 to 8 months to get it up to scratch. That's if I don't decide to keep it at the end, heh 
I've joined the club, which saved me 20 quid on the insurance bill already (nice one !) and I'm just soaking up all the info I can find on this superb site.
I'm sure there'll be many 'HEELLPPP' posts from me, but I thought I'd say hi before I fill up the board with problems. Obviously the van will have to be errrr road-tested before it goes to its new home.. perhaps I'll get a chance to meet some of you :)

hi there welcome to the site plenty of people on hear to answer your questions im not to far from you in stirling there is a meet in scotland around august but roi or alex will keep you right on that;]

we usually end up your way for the summer so we may bump into you [not literally i hope]
don't worry, the site is not going anywhere and ask all you want but try a search first.
don't forget we have a social side as well..

Thanks for the welcome - I'm melting the search button already and, having had a browse through, I can see I've joined something that is at least, if not more, geared to the social side than the technical.
I work for an airline and have to submit my leave requests many, many, many, far too many, months in advance, but I'd love to make it to one of the meets.
(Just out of interest - are CFs magnetically drawn to Wales or is there some more sinister reason ?  )

we have french, spanish, german, kiwi and members from oz.
it just happened that God {Colin} is Welsh [as are all the best folk] and so am I

Thanks guys,
Already a huge amount of modifications made - 130W solar panel, 240V gear chucked for 12V, 220Ah leisure battery and now looking in earnest at the gas/heating side. As self sufficient as she can get, basically.
Will post photos etc when back from abroad (as i am now !).
