Newbie-the continuation of the adventure

Hi there Beddie fans.

Firstly I`ve got to say this a fantastic site and has given me great encouragement to get my van up and running.
Its a 1978 pop top camper with a GM2.1 diesel engine / auto box in need of some pretty extensive metal surgery. I`ve had it for about 6 weeks and the resurrection has started in earnest.
Wheelarches and sills are shot but through gritted teeth I`ve thrown myself into it when the time permits.
I`ll try to post photos but i`ve only got limited broadband
access at the moment.
No regrets yet, just some hard work and I can`t I wait to get it on the road for some wild camping.

cheers for now.

Diolch roi

Couldn't see you cos i'm not on the posh side of wirral

the guy i bought the van off did post an intro here claiming the start of his adventure but the MOT man soon put paid to that.I had a cf many moons ago which failed its mot on sill corrosion but i didn't think that the standard repair method was to fill it with chicken wire/plaster/cereal packet/newspaper report of englands 3-0 win over the ukraine/balsa wood etc!!.I think my van has been (un)professionally bodged and "mot'd".
Never mind , i'm goin t'dales now for week and i can 'ere tan hill calling my name
can't work out how to use the smilies though
cheers for now
