Back Again
Hello All,
I started coming here about 18 months ago, when I acquired Bea the Beddy, then I had an extremely hectic year, I moved house once, daughter one and daughter two moved houses (to Bristol) Daughter three gone to Aberdeen Uni (that was expensive), Son one left home. Daughters one and two both presented us with a grandson each within 6 days of each other, lots of running around !
Tried to log in under old password, but not surprisingly I assume my original membership was deleted due to non use.
So sadly no work done on Bea for a long time. Last year when I put her in for her first with me MOT she became the only vehicle I have ever owned that passed its MOT with no faults, The tester did inform me that she would need new front wheel bearings soon, this year after doing the grand amount of about 25 miles in the year, she failed on the bearings and a perished wiper blade, can't complain about that !.
In the last few months I have worked on the inside of her, the original seats/bed were shabby and I removed them and built in a seat running across the back of her rather than on either side, the cushion just rolls forward as required during the day to reveal the huge storage space below, and at night the backrest drops down (sort of almost rock and roll type movement to complete the double bed, very quick and very easy, both making to bed and back to seat.
I had to remove and build a new kitchen unit, this is now done apart from a few cosmetics. The ovecab bed is now a large cupboard unit/soon to be entertainment, tv etc unit, pictures have and are being taken !.
We took her camping for a few days last week at a site just a few miles down the road, had a great time, just a few tweaks to be done, so okay there.
The clutch appears to be slipping just a little when going up hills in top or sometimes third in low revs, change down and okay, is she cable adjusted ?, I lift clutch pedal almost to top before drive engages, I have contacted a local motor factor we do a lot of trade with at work, and he has quoted me about £70 for a clutch, so the price is very good, I think, and an ex workmate says he will fit it when he has time, but if I can adjust it in the meantime it would make travelling a little easier.
On another note I tried to upload a jpg avatar of Bea but I get told it is not a jpg ??
Anyway I will sign off now and talk to you again soon I hope
Roger
