I'm new here and ready to get addicted! 
I'm Olivier from Ghent (Belgium) , 26 yo and I'm just obsessed by oldtimers and since a few years mobile homes. I drive a VW beatle from 1973 as my daily, and had some great vacations with it with the folding tent behind it. But now me and my girlfriend are planning some steps forward, and when there will be kids, we needed something a bit bigger. So last summer we bought a Bedford CF 280 camper. at the moment I'm still working on it, so not driving yet, but soooooo looking forward to it. I'm a total noob to bedford, and we bought it cheap and quick, so I don't even know what engine is in it. All I know is, it has a CF 280 sign on the side, and it backfires.  .
This weekend I'm replacing the whole ignition system, that will be the kick-off to a great summer I think :)

Hello, and Welcome to the board Oliver. 
That's a nice looking camper: I have a CF280 van. CF280s are long wheel base with single rear wheels, and your's looks like about 1980-81 and should have the 2.3 litre slant four motor. ---------------------- |

Welcome to the leaky world of Bedfords. Hi from an old mechanic and for nine years a long distance driver, I have crossed through and stayed in you country often, very friendly lot over there they looked after me well, I hope you find us here in this club to be the same.Doug. ---------------------- |

Hi Anon,(which is a baby donkey in French!) Welcome to the best Bedford club around. If you're French-speaking, you should also be looking at the French forum, http://bedfordvanclub.forumpro.fr/index.htm But I'm not trying to steal members, just to help, don't worry. The French forum is very active in modifying vehicles, while this one is a lot more informative for mechanical and general technical help. Robin |
