New Member

Hello All, I'me Frank Just joined to day,I live in Dover in Kent.
I just bought a 1976 CF 280 2.3cc petrol, in very good condition, She is a 5 Birth campervan,(coach built I think you call them)
its the biggest camper I've ever had any way,Way back in 1982 I had a CA Doormobile 1960,1500cc,but that anouther story,my wifes is Carol and we are of to France next month in our Beddy on holiday Just to Give Her a test run,Any way you dont need me to waffle on to long,So Bye for now.

Hi Frank - welcome to the club. Before you shoot off for France, it might be worth doing a service and replacing some of the engine electrical components - points, condensor, dizzy cap etc., as these seem to be a common cause of problems on newly-acquired vans !

Back From France

Just to let you all know that Myself,my Beddy(Betty) and my wife have
Returned from our holidays in France,All went well,We Zoomed about slowly at 55mph and she never missed a beat,By the time we got home
we had done about 1600 miles with plenty of stops on the way,got to give the old girl a rest you know,(the van I mean)The only problem we had was the fridge stoped working (now fixed)Had to drink warm beer,Urgh. Any way My wife tells me we are going to south wales in two weeks time,if your going have a campervan use it!! thats what i say,All the best people. PS any one know of an electronic ignition that will fit a 2.3 slant 4.

Choice of fitting a system like the Lumenition PMA60 setup using the original Delco distributor (distributor fittings kit FK316 - same as SAAB 99, Triumph TR7 as well as all slant-engined Vauxhall models) or retro-fitting the Bosch electronic distributor for the slant engine, ignition coil, module and wiring.
