Mantaman & his recovery truck

Hello all, as you may have guessed from my user name my all consuming passion is for Opel Manta's, i'm the Beds,Herts & Bucks area rep and VBOA rep for the Opel Manta Owners Club.
I've had a serious car problem for years,at one point i had SEVENTEEN Manta's stashed in various places, always moving cars about i got fed up with car trailers and having to get a big enough tow car and a couple of people to help you handle the set-up so i looked for an old Recovery Truck,it had to be a GM product (i had to keep the faith!) so i got myself a Bedford CF 2 350D, its really scruffy and its taking me a fair while to lick it into shape/get it how i want it but its far superior to a car/4x4 & trailer, truely one man operation and even does 25 mpg with a car on the back!
I'm glad i've 'found' this website as there are still aspects of Bedford ownership that i need help with, parts for the twin rear wheel type i have being a problem as often car factors dont list this type of Bedford.
So i'm Looking forward to getting to know the 'Bedford crowd' on here and perhaps sometime in the future meeting you.

Hi there Mantaman and welcome to the site. Loads of info on here and a really helpful crowd too. A tow truck! Now we know who to call on when we've broken down! Good luck with your project.

Hi Mantaman, welcome along. Seventeen Mantas? Just thinking about trying to keep up with the tax or SORN's for them all makes me break out in a sweat!

Hi Mantaman

I'm new here too. Great cars, sadly under-appreciated. Back in the early 90's I was an OMOC member for a few years (I went to a great weekend at the Water Park ??? I remember a chaotic auto-test won by an XR3i!!!

I had a black GTj and fitted basic bodykit and double headlamps. Did me well for many years until the gearbox gave up around 200K. Went to a good home. Nowadays I live next door to a guy with four Capris on his drive (he used to have six) - some people are strange
