New Member but old Bedford man from the sixies.

Hi my name is doug joyce, and I live in perth scotland and have just retired this year, so I thought if I was going to have a camper I should buy what I know of old.
A bedford, my first bedford was back in 1978, and it was a 75reg, and we travelled Germany and then England, I had just set up my own workshop in that year, and that bedford served us very well.
And three weeks ago I bought another bedford this one is an 89reg, and in great need of a lot of work, some of the work I have already done but it is not fit for the road yet.
Saying that I drove it up from the sellers address in Livingston in the dark, and once I got it home, after a breakdown on the m90 and looked at it in the cold light of day and wondered how I had made it home.
My wife thinks I have lost my mind, but she fails to have noticed that happened a long time ago.
So being a member of a club like this will be a great to me, and I hope to be a great help to everybody with a bedford.

Regards, Doug,

Hi Doug

Welcome, nice to have another scottie onboard. We all have a story to tell, mine can be seen on various threads here. Needless to say mine is in need of major surgery !!a transplant to be precise ( excuse the medical teminology but I am a nurse and can't help seeing my poor van as a sick patient )
There are a lot of knowledgeable people on this site, very helpful indeed.
I hope to get to loch Lomond at New year, but will wait and see.

Margaret
