Chassis Number on TK, no plate in cab.

Hi, just found the Forum and wanted to pick peoples brains. I have got 3 TKs and am trying to find the Chassis number on my 1966 ex-RAF Tanker, as the cab was changed whilst in service and they didn't replace the plate LH side of cab. All this to get a new V5. I spent a couple of hours this afternoon trying to find the alternative position, handbooks say "Left Hand side member, adjacnet to rear spring hanger".

I have tried either side of both rear hangers and by the front rear spring hanger, all with no joy. The only place I cannot get to is to the rear of and up from the front rear hanger where there is a bracket covering the top half.

Any advice glady received.

Have you got an old MOT or the original brochures? I doubt you will find the number elsewhere.

Jeffo, Thanks unfortunately no so I may have to go through the process of getting DVLA to agree to a replacement chassis number. Hopefully they will let me keep the Reg as it is obviously Tax free.

Hi Alec. if you have the Registration number then surely you can trace this on the DVLA data base. Where by it should show up the Chassis number. If you dont have a Civvy Reg No then i dont think that they will let you keep the RAF number. Regards David.
