New to all this, and enjoying it already!
On Friday me and the boss ,plus 3 kids in the back, made our way north of brum, and fell in love, well i did, with the auto sleeper that is now ours.
Drove it home, WOW! like a step back in time. Mirrors shaking like
a frightened child in the headmasters office, the noise!!!of the engine, made
louder with there not being a stereo in there. Me and my 6 yr old lad, dad
and lad chugging down the m42 at 65 mph. :)
So yeah, it's been looked over, a bit of rust, especially where the cabin meets the base, but i've had a tidy up inside,so with a bit of work, and some help
off friends who actually might know what they are doing, i should
get there.
Named the van Vera, and long may she live. haha.
Oh.And this site has been very helpful already. Cheers,
Mark.

The best part so far? Turning.!!
Having a good clean tomorrow, still haven't sussed how to de rust the
top of the cab, but i will.
Most the dirt is looking like it's removable, we're going to theme it
to something world war 2 ish. So any ideas for inside decor.......

Hi Mark and family, welcome. If I were you I would just enjoy whats left of the weather and do the jobs on your van in the winter. I see your down for Blackpool where you will see that many of us are relaxed about our vans, just keeping them roadworthy and relatively economical to run is the main thing.
Regards - Wayne and Jackie.

How about a painting your gas bottle to look like a torpedo.
When you park up you could offer the kids strictly rationed portions of dried food.
Tape down the horn in the middle of the night. You all have to crawl on your bellies into a tin bin until morning.
Dont forget the dolly peg for your unmentionables

Well, only a few weeks in, and the ''better'' half sounds
like she wants rid ALREADY!!!
Saying she is put off by the scare stories, (of frequent
breakdowns and bank-bustingly low milage ) but i'm fighting
my corner.
