Hi Gethin, we checked these out - there are a lot of them on ebay as well! Not good for us as we like to cook on ours and this just does not have the space on top.

Nice looking stove though and small enough for a van!

Hi there, welcome to the club. I've got a woodburner in mine, and saves me every time it gets way below freezing. Just a point about burners though, stay clear of cast iron designs in road vehicles if you want it to last long. Cast iron is brittle, and will break if you hit a big bump or pothole while driving. Steel burners are much stronger and have some flexibility to move with the van in any terrain. Also, if you're going for a custom-made stove, make the chimney a one-piece with the stove at least until the point where it exits the van. This way you'll never have to worry about it not sealing well, or moving off from the vibrations while driving. The last thing you want in a tiny space like that is a leaking chimney connection.

CO alarm is a must too! For LPG too, not just for the wood.

Good luck getting the van running again!

Enjoy your nomadic life!

Hi Jim, we have a sectioned chimney and have no problems at all with it leaking unless the chimney needs cleaning out. Because it is in sections, it is easy to clean out and also easy to remove one segment when we are travelling. All of the chimney fits inside of the stove so we can put it away in the summer or when things warm up.

Thanks for the reply - the CO2 detector is a v good idea, something I would recommend too!

We are planning on moving on on Wednesday, the van is not it's best but it is running so we are making a break for it! Happy travelling here we come again - I can't wait
